A new investment service in Romania is the latest milestone in ING’s efforts to make investing more accessible across Europe.
Investing can feel daunting, especially for people taking their first steps. Questions like "Where do I start?" or "What should I invest in?" can stop people from getting started. As more customers look for ways to grow their money, ING is expanding its investment offering across Europe.
Behind this is OneInvestments, ING's global investment platform. Already live in the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy, the platform brings ING's investment capabilities together in one place. This helps us launch new investment services faster, create a more consistent customer experience across markets and respond more quickly to changing customer needs.
Romania is the latest market to benefit from OneInvestments. ING has launched a new digital brokerage service, giving customers direct access to shares and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed on major European and domestic exchanges through a simple, fully digital investing experience.
"With OneInvestments, we're combining international scale with local relevance. By building once and deploying across markets, we can innovate faster, improve the customer experience and make investing more accessible to millions of customers,” said Anneka Treon, global head of Private Banking, Wealth Management & Investments.
“The rollout of investment propositions across several countries, including our brokerage launch in Romania, reflects how OneInvestments is supporting the expansion of our investment offering across markets and helping build a scalable investment platform for the future.”
One platform, different ways to invest
More than five million customers now invest with ING, around 400,000 more than a year earlier. Some want guidance and a clear overview of their finances, some prefer to make their own investment decisions and others want professional support. OneInvestments is designed to support these different approaches.
Wealth Hub helps customers understand where they are financially and how investing could support their goals. Available in the ING app, it brings their finances and investments together in one place and guides those taking their first steps into investing.
Brokerage gives customers direct access to financial markets, allowing them to buy and sell shares and ETFs and manage their own investments.
Managed solutions provide access to professional investment services, including discretionary portfolio management, advisory services and private market investments.
ING's Global Investment Centre
OneInvestments is backed by ING's Global Investment Centre, which manages investment portfolios for markets across ING. Together, they help us bring new investment solutions to customers in different countries more quickly and consistently.
