“We achieved good results in the second quarter, with solid profitability and healthy growth in both lending and deposits. We added more than 300,000 primary customers in 2Q2019, which demonstrates that our customer experience continues to be differentiating and drive growth,” said Ralph Hamers, CEO of ING Group.

ING Italy to strengthen compliance

ING has been informed by the Banca d’Italia of their report with conclusions regarding shortcomings in AML processes at ING Italy. ING will analyse the findings from an inspection conducted from October 2018 until January 2019 and will discuss them further with the Banca d’Italia. In line with the enhancement programme announced last year, it is taking the necessary steps to improve processes and management of compliance risks as required by the Banca d’Italia.

ING sells 34.5 million Voya shares for total proceeds of USD 1.4 billion

ING Group today announced the pricing for the sale of 34.5 million shares of common stock of Voya Financial Inc. that was announced on 12 November 2014. ING Group has sold approximately 30 million Voya shares at a price of USD 39.15 per share in the public offering. In addition ING Group has sold to Voya approximately 4.5 million shares for an aggregate amount of USD 175 million.
