New London office officially opened
15 September 2016
By opening its modern new office at 8-10 Moorgate, ING UK shows its continued commitment to London.
At yesterday’s opening ceremony, ING CEO Ralph Hamers said that “London is undisputedly one of the world's great financial centres.”
“It is important for ING to be here to support and empower our UK-based clients and to be close to this international hub from which we are able to serve Wholesale Banking clients from all over the world.”
The London branch was established in 1995 following ING’s acquisition of Barings Bank. In 2016, the new office at 8-10 Moorgate is staffed by a very international workforce of about 650 people, with 46 nationalities.
For the new building, about one million feet of data cable was used – the equivalent of 190 miles, or the distance from London to Plymouth.
