Both in a national and European level various measures were announced to counter financing problems Dutch SME companies are facing. ING’s Chief Risk Officer Wilfred Nagel reflects on those measures in a publication in Dutch economic magazine ESB.

In the article the authors Wilfred Nagel and Koen Harmsen argue that increasing the availability of venture capital and improving transparency of credit data will help Dutch SME companies more than measures focusing on the capital position and lending capabilities of banks.
