Ignacio Juliá to leave ING
ING today announced that Ignacio Juliá, country manager of ING Spain & Portugal since January 2021, will leave the bank on 30 September to become the CEO of Santander Spain. Until Ignacio’s permanent successor is appointed, Almudena Román will act as ad interim country manager in Spain & Portugal.
Ignacio joined ING in 1999 and has held a range of leadership positions across the bank, including chief financial officer (CFO) and chief risk officer (CRO) in Spain as well as various roles at ING Group. His passion for the brand, obsession over the customer and his energetic leadership have inspired many colleagues in many markets throughout his 25 years with ING.
Almudena will act as ad interim country manager
Almudena joined ING in 1999 and headed Retail Banking in Spain since 2013 until she took on her current role of new business development, brand and ESG earlier this year. Almudena is known for her passion for people, brand, customer experience and growth. She has been instrumental for the success of our franchise in Spain leading to strong results in engagement, brand metrics as well as commercial results.
