ING in Poland was named ‘best bank’ by financial newspaper Dziennik Gazeta Prawna and PwC, taking first place in the Polish ‘Banking Stars 2021’ ranking. The award, won by ING for the sixth consecutive year, is based on surveys completed by customers and other banks.

“Being awarded best bank is a source of pride for our team, especially since it also reflects the opinion of our customers,” said Brunon Bartkiewicz, Poland’s country manager.

In addition, ING in Poland was awarded best bank by financial magazine Euromoney, as well as Central and Eastern Europe’s best bank for SMEs. ING was praised for its digital leadership and client-centric business model and for being one of the first banks to offer payment holidays to business customers during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We aim to provide our business customers with simple and intuitive solutions to help them run their businesses. I’m very glad that we’re now being recognised for that,” said ING in Poland’s Ewa Łuniewska.

Best digital bank in the Philippines

ING was also named best digital bank for customer experience in the Philippines by Digital Banker magazine. Nominees were assessed on several criteria like digital transformation, product innovation and customer centricity. ING is the first digital-only bank in the Philippines.

“As a new player in the Philippines, we are honoured to receive the award. Since our launch in 2018, we have been proactively listening to our customers and are committed to delivering an easy, smart, and personal experience. This remains at the core of our strategy,” said Hans Sicat, country manager of ING in the Philippines.

Earlier this year, financial magazine Global Banking & Finance Review awarded ING in the Philippines the top prize in three categories: best saving bank, fastest growing retail bank, and most innovative mobile savings app.
