The ING way to innovate
We want to ensure that we retain and develop our innovative culture in the future. We have introduced “PACE: the ING way to innovate”, an innovation methodology based on concepts like design thinking and lean start-up. PACE aims to provide employees with a set of common processes, language and tools to encourage fast experimentation.
The four phases of PACE – discover, problem fit, solution fit and market fit – take ideas and quickly turn them into new products and services for customers. In each phase ING gathers feedback from customers to make sure that the new products and services meet their needs.
ING has also established dedicated innovation departments in a number of countries, including Spain and Belgium, and in its Wholesale Bank. To ensure that innovative ideas and other best practices are shared throughout the organisation, we have in place a structured knowledge-sharing approach called Orange Sharing.
