Ludo Wijngaarden to step down as Chairman of the Dutch Intermediary Division

Amsterdam, 15 May 2008

ING announced today that Ludo Wijngaarden, Chairman of the Dutch Intermediary Division (Nationale-Nederlanden, Movir, Westland Utrecht) will step down effective 1 August, 2008 after 19 years of service to the company. As of the same date, Ludo Wijngaarden will also step down as board member of other ING Companies.

Ludo Wijngaarden was appointed Chairman of the Dutch Intermediary Division in the beginning of 2004 and has since then successfully guided Nationale-Nederlanden through a number of key milestones, including the improvement of the customer satisfaction and increasing operating efficiency, bringing the company back to market standards.

ING has started the search for a successor capable of continuing the strategic direction and ongoing transformation process of the Dutch Intermediary Division.

Ludo Wijngaarden (1947) started his career at ING in 1988 as Manager Human Resources and Organisation at NMB Bank. After various roles within ING’s retail banking business he was appointed Vice Chairman of Bank Slaski Poland in 1997, Chairman of Postbank in 2000 and Chairman of the Dutch Retail Division in 2002.
