ING Launches Global F1 Advertising Campaign

Amsterdam and London, 15th March 2007

ING will launch its first ever global advertising campaign, supporting the ING Renault F1 Team sponsorship and on-track GP branding activities, at the start of the ING Australian Grand Prix programme on March 15th. The campaign will run until the Brazilian GP on October 21st.

The central broadcast campaign will air in 30 countries globally, in 15-40 second spots both on those national TV stations broadcasting GP races, and via international broadcast media, during each race weekend in the GP calendar. The broadcast campaign will be supported by a print media roll-out in key global business publications, and an online presence in leading news, online print and F1 portals.

Developed by kempertrautmann, the campaign explores the similarities between the ING Renault F1 team and ING's Banking, Insurance and Asset Management businesses, focusing on the concept that behind the F1 driver – and ING customer – is a team of professionals who provide continuous support and advice to help them succeed.

Through the global F1 advertising campaign, on-track branding in 14 of the 17 Grand Prix races, and title sponsorship of the ING Renault F1 Team, ING will further build its global brand awareness as one of the leading global financial institutions providing Banking, Insurance and Asset Management services to over 60 million customers in 50 countries across the world. With a global audience of over 850 million, across a broad demographic and with ING active in 15 of the 17 countries hosting Grand Prix races, F1 offers an unrivalled opportunity to bolster ING’s global brand.

Isabelle M. Conner, Head of ING’s F1 Programme said:

"Our Formula 1 programme is a global sponsorship initiative which will help ING unify the brand worldwide and increase awareness. Formula 1 is the best platform for a global sponsorship programme, as it has the potential to reach a broad customer base."

ING is a global financial institution of Dutch origin offering banking, insurance and asset management to over 60 million private, corporate and institutional clients in 50 countries.
With a diverse workforce of over 120,000 people, ING comprises a broad spectrum of prominent companies that increasingly serve their clients under the ING brand.
